HANOVER COMMUNITY SCHOOLS

The Hanover Community School Corporation is a school district located in Cedar Lake, Indiana, serving several communities in the surrounding area, including Hanover Township, Cedar Lake, Crown Point, and St. John. With ground breaking occuring in 2021, this 23.5 million dollar contract was dedicated toward improving and expanding the current facilities for Hanover schools. The inclusion of a new 20 acre upper elementary school will allow for fifth grades students to move out of the middle school, easing an increasing overload each year. The middle school is being renovated, increasing the size of the band room, adding or reconfiguring six classrooms, and adding an auxiliary gym.

Meanwhile, Hanover Central High will receive new science rooms, a larger band room, and an addition of student common areas. Many of the district’s schools feature open floor plans that allow for easy collaboration and communication between students and teachers, so the common area addition will certainly facilitate more intercommunication amongst the student body.

An important design feature of the Hanover Community School improvements is upgraded electrical systems. The district is committed to providing students with access to the latest technology, and this calls for an integrated design to support the increasing amount of tech devices found within the school district. Many of the district’s schools feature state-of-the-art computer labs, interactive whiteboards, and expansions to the availability of STEM opportunities.

Additional enhancements to Hanover Central High School include the addition of a new community athletic center, updated auditorium sound systems, and centralizing the main office.
